Harrington Grove is honoured to be awarded the prestigious Residential Development of the Year (2013) by Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA NSW) at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner on Friday 26 July 2013. This award recognises Harrington Grove as the best residential development in NSW / ACT.

Harrington Grove’s commitment to building a lively and cohesive community, buzzing with activity was recognised by the UDIA NSW when awarding Harrington Grove with this top honour.

In presenting Harrington Grove with the Residential Award, the judges said, “The developers have done a superior job working within the environmental constraints to deliver an impressive, non imposing development. There is also a strong sense of community in the area, illustrated through examples such as the community association’s maintenance of the well-landscaped verges and pathways. Just seven weeks after the creation of the new precinct Magnolia, construction is already underway with the first concrete slab having been poured on lot 77 last Wednesday.

Construction of the first home in the area is always an exciting time, as it represents new beginnings and heralds the commencement of neighbouring homes, which are never far behind.

A sister to the Harrington Grove Country Club, the Magnolia Club will follow in its footsteps of class and style. Construction on the Magnolia Club will commence later this year, and it is scheduled to be open to residents by summer 2014. The Magnolia Club is the first of two community neighbourhood centres to be built in Harrington Grove.

Dianella is the latest precinct at Harrington Grove and was launched in August this year. Already the subdivision work is complete with landscaping progressing well. Named after the local flora 'Dianella longifolia' found growing around the estate in summer, Dianella offers homesites ranging from 702sqm to 1167sqm; most of which are large, flat and easy to build on and encompassed by bushland. Residents at Dianella will love the convenience to the Country Club as well as the close proximity to the Harrington Green Neighbourhood Centre which, when built, will also have a swimming pool and barbeque area. To date there are five precincts released at Harrington Grove, all named after botanical names of local flora. The first was Araucaria which was released in September 2008 and comprises 105 generous homesites of various sizes.

Second to be released was Maculata with homesites set amidst beautiful bushland. Most have views of the surrounding landscape as well as district views towards Camden. Many homes are now occupied with another 38 currently under construction or due to start shortly.

The third precinct released was Lomandra Rise distinctive for its elevated position and picturesque bushland setting. All homesites are 720sqm or larger. 22 homes are currently under construction.

Local builder John McDonald and his team at John McDonald Building Services were recent winners of New South Wales HIA Award for Spec Home of the Year for their impressive construction at Harrington Grove. The second precinct at Harrington Grove, ‘Maculata,’ comprising 71 homesites, takes its name from the surrounding Spotted Gum trees Corymbia (Eucalyptus) maculata.

These are beautiful trees characterised by their spotted trunk and dark green foliage. Like the first precinct, ‘Maculata’ offers generous homesites (ranging between 700m2 and just under 1200m2 with an average lot size of 825m2) nestled in unspoilt bushland. Many of the homesites have views of the surrounding landscape and district views to Camden and of course all will be in walking distance to the Country Club.

On the road to success. Harrington Estates is privately funding initiatives to improve safety and reduce congestion.

Harrington Estates is pleased to announce the beginning of work on their new privately funded intersection at Cobbitty Road and Camden Valley Way. Currently there is a lot of bulk earth works underway and the building of retaining walls on Camden Valley Way is also in progress. Additionally the services are being relocated to make way for the road at the intersection. Work is progressing well and the new intersection is expected to be complete by mid 2010.

The objective of this project is to ease the struggle that commuters face turning into Camden Valley Way from Cobbitty Road, especially during peak times. The intersection will involve new traffic lights and a protected right turn lanes.
Additionally Camden Valley Way will be widened from two lanes to four lanes with dual carriageway and the Narellan Road to Cobbitty Road section will be the next stage to be constructed. The aim is to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians and ease congestion.

There was great excitement as the concrete slab was poured for the first of the homes being built at luxury lifestyle estate Harrington Grove.

The laying of this first foundation also signifies the beginnings of a brand new community which is expected to evolve and flourish at Harrington Grove.
