On Sunday March 6th Harrington Grove in conjunction with Harrington Park Dental Care proudly presented Classics in the Grove. Held at the Harrington Grove Amphitheatre, Harrington Grove residents were treated to an afternoon of musical entertainment with performances from Tom White, Bryan Browne, Margaret Andrews Russell, Macarthur Singers and students from the Macarthur Anglican School. Master of Ceremonies Martin Moroney introduced a wide variety of music ranging from Irving Berlin songs, music from My Fair Lady, Beatles songs through to work from the Handel's Messiah. Gold coin donations received will go towards the development of music in our local schools. We would like to thank all the sponsors that helped make the day such a success.

A number of children and adults turned up to have a hit with our new Director of Tennis, John, and some of his Elite Players at the Tennis Fun Day on Wednesday 12th January. Although the weather had cancelled the Monday sessions, we were able to reschedule all residents to come along on Wednesday. Children of all ages, plus a few adults had a taste of what's to come. The following week 15 children aged from 4 to 14 years attended our first Tennis and Sports Camp at Harrington Grove between the 17th and 19th January. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and on the last day there was a presentation and a sausage sizzle. We would like to extend a special thanks to John, James and Ross for doing such a sensational job and to all residents who were part of the first Harrington Grove Tennis and Sports Camp.
The Tennis Open Day was held in conjunction with Tennis NSW on Sunday 6th February was a fun filled social tennis day for residents at Harrington Grove. Australia Day at Harrington Grove is always a great day and 2011 was no exception! The weather was hot, the pool was packed and the bbq firing when over 50 families attended and barbecued up a storm. A portable bar was set up for the day as fabulous bush band 'The Larrikins' entertained us with some spirited live music. The day would not have been complete without a traditional Aussie game of backyard cricket and after lunch a spectacular water flight broke out with all the children (and most of the adults) getting involved.
Australia Day at Harrington Grove this year was a wonderful opportunity for our residents to enjoy the fantastic facilities and spend time with new friends and neighbours.
Our first Residents' Rendezvous for the year was held on Friday the 4th February. As always it was a fun night and a great get together for our residents. This evening was planned to be held poolside but due to the extreme heat we had to relocate to the function rooms at the Country Club.
With over 70 residents in attendance the evening spilled onto the balcony as the evening temperature cooled. Children enjoyed a movie in the adjoining room, whilst the adults indulged in conversation and laughter.
The next Residents' Rendezvous will be held on Friday 8th April at 6.30pm. To assist with adequate catering, please RSVP by Tuesday 5th April by calling (02) 4631 3200
Our first Harrington Grove Pool Deck Dining event was held on the 11th December. This was a glamorous sit down three course dinner, with pre dinner canapés, held around the deck of the Country Club pool where residents and their guests enjoyed the ambience and tranquillity of our beautiful Country Club's grounds.
Due to the evening's success, further dinners have followed featuring a 'Gourmet Grill' with a menu designed and cooked on the poolside barbecues.
Due to rain, our most recent pool deck dinner was relocated to the Country Club balcony overlooking the picturesque grounds. The evening was aglow with candles and soft lighting creating a relaxing ambience. These pool deck evenings have been very popular and will certainly be on the calendar, along with other special events, for residents and their invited guests throughout the year....

On the 4th December in the lead up to Christmas, a craft afternoon was held at the Country Club. About 30 excited children made some wonderful Christmas cards and superb Christmas tree decorations.
Our residents also had a great time at the Harrington Grove Christmas Barbecue on December 12th where the children were delighted with a visit from Santa.
It was also a fantastic opportunity for Harrington Grove residents to meet and have a hit with our new Director of Tennis, John Thompson.

One of the first families to call Harrington Grove ‘HOME’ is Jennifer and Scott Granger along with their 2 teenage sons who moved in last month. They are thoroughly looking forward to their new lifestyle here.
When the Grangers were first looking to purchase it was the strong focus on community and lifestyle they saw at Harrington Grove that was one of the deciding factors for them. “We liked the sense of community and were of course immediately attracted to the Country Club with its tennis courts, gym and swimming pool – all of which is fully maintained for us. There is a great relaxed atmosphere and the Country Club staff have been wonderful,” says Mrs Granger.
The spectacular architect designed Country Club at Harrington Grove is nestled amongst the homesites which means residents are within easy walking distance to the tennis courts, 25m swimming pool and fully equipped gym, which are for the exclusive use by Harrington Grove residents. The Country Club is the heart and soul of Harrington Grove, the focal point where residents and their families can meet up with friends and neighbours and relax, interact and enjoy themselves....
Hopefully you now feel rested and recharged ready to resume 2010, which seems to be forging ahead at a great pace!
Harrington Grove is looking sensational as construction work gains momentum and the first of the residents begin to move in. The grounds are so lush and green at the moment and our many magnificent trees are steadily growing, helped along by a few days of heavy but much appreciated rain over the past few months. If you haven’t been to see us lately, you’ll be amazed at the changes.
The first homes have now been completed in ‘Araucaria’ with many more are under construction and due for completion over the next few months. The second precinct called ‘Maculata’ was released in late 2009, earlier than originally planned, to meet the high level of demand. As this demand continues, we have started preparing the third precinct with bulk earthworks now underway....
The calendar has been full over the last couple of months at the Harrington Grove Country Club and there are many more events on the horizon for 2010.
The Residents’ Christmas Party which was held at the end of last year was a great success. There was a jumping castle, face painting, BBQ and or course everyone loved swimming and playing tennis at the Country Club’s great facilities. Approximately 120 guests attended the day, including lots of children who were very excited when Santa made an appearance. We would especially like to thank the team from Pollet’s Martial Arts Centre for the great Martial Arts Demonstration which was one of the day’s highlights.
The Australia Day celebrations were also enjoyed by everyone at Harrington Grove Country Club. In true Aussie style there was a BBQ for new residents and their guests, followed by a game of cricket and swimming in the Country Club pool. It was a sweltering summer’s day with lots of fun and laughter and guests took home Australia Day packs which were won as lucky door prizes. The Cocktail Parties have also been very popular and were a wonderful way to welcome our new residents. The last one was held on March 4 and it was great to see so many future neighbours getting together; no doubt the beginnings of some great friendships were started. One of the wonderful features of Harrington Grove is the fantastic people that will be living here.. and of course working here! Harrington Grove is all about community spirit and our cocktail parties mark the beginning of many residents’ events to follow in 2010....
The second precinct at Harrington Grove, ‘Maculata,’ comprising 71 homesites, takes its name from the surrounding Spotted Gum trees Corymbia (Eucalyptus) maculata.
These are beautiful trees characterised by their spotted trunk and dark green foliage. Like the first precinct, ‘Maculata’ offers generous homesites (ranging between 700m2 and just under 1200m2 with an average lot size of 825m2) nestled in unspoilt bushland. Many of the homesites have views of the surrounding landscape and district views to Camden and of course all will be in walking distance to the Country Club.
Harrington Grove is a family oriented development and offers picnic areas, parks and playground areas for the kids in each precinct. At Maculata the playground is already complete, prior to the sale of the homesites, in readiness for the new community which will soon evolve around it. These community elements are an integral part of Harrington Grove....

On Saturday March 13 over 420 people from South West Sydney’s land development and building industry united to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research at a glamorous formal event hosted by the Harrington Estates team at Harrington Grove Country Club. The night was a huge success resulting in a $100,000 cheque being given to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and an additional $75,000 to the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute. Both groups conduct valuable research into Motor Neurone Disease.
Motor Neurone Disease is the name given to a group of closely related neurological diseases where the nerve cells (neurons) controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow, stop working. MND is a cruel and insidious disease; currently there is no cure and the disease is terminal, usually within 2 – 3 years of diagnosis. One Australian a day dies of this disease. Thus there is an urgent need for more research in order to find a cure.
The night was also highly informative with Mr Graham Opie, CEO of Motor Neurone Disease Association, and Mr Steve Vucic from the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute, speaking about Motor Neurone Disease and its devastating effects....
