The stunning Harrington Grove Country Club forms the epicentre of the Harrington Grove community. Surrounded by woodlands and grassy hills, the Country Club is an exciting avenue for casual dining, recreation, relaxation and community interaction. It was built with architectural flair and design excellence to offer leisure and sporting facilities on a grand scale.

Harrington Park House and Orielton Homestead are two of the most historic houses in NSW, respectively located at the heart of Harrington Park and Harrington Grove. As part of the planning and rezoning of Harrington Grove, Harrington Estates undertook plans to restore both houses.

The full restoration of Harrington Park House has been undertaken and has now been completed.

Meanwhile, restoration of Orielton Homestead is well underway and is expected to take another 12 months. The work is intricate and painstaking, and there have been many special measures implemented in order to protect the delicate materials and fixtures. For example, an on-site joinery shop has been established to recreate the architecture of the past without the unnecessary wear and tear caused by travel. Orielton Homestead is prominent in the Harrington Park locality, being highly visible from The Northern Road.

Since its very inception, Harrington Grove has aimed to blend with the natural environment, creating a seamless relationship between the estate and its surrounds. The Bush Mate program seems to almost echo these intentions as they promote a closer relationship between residents and the natural landscape that surrounds them.

The Bush Mate initiative is a community engagement and education program run by the National Parks Association of NSW with the support of Greening Australia, WWF, The University of Sydney and the Greater Sydney Local Land Services.

The Bush Mate program seeks to encourage a respectful and sustainable relationship between local residents and their natural surroundings. This initiative aims to increase the connection between the community and the local bushland. Adopting a more connected relationship with the natural environment does not always require large changes to your lifestyle.

The Bush Mate program recommends such small changes as:Designing

  • Designing a backyard that is both bird and native animal-friendly

Imagine if every family in Harrington Grove designed their backyard to attract native birds and wildlife. Not only would we be providing a much-needed haven for these lovely creatures, we would be able to enjoy the variety of Australian wildlife that was part of our day-to-day lives.

  • Controlling weeds

Dominant weed species are damaging to the native Australian flora and fauna. By playing a small part and consistently controlling the weeds in your area, you can greatly minimise the impact these noxious plants have on the entire area.

High Tea is a long-held and much-loved tradition, a lovely throwback to a bygone era that is still held dear to Australians.

In the Macarthur region, there is no High Tea experience that can parallel that of the Harrington Gove Country Club’s High Tea. Our sumptuous blend of both sweet and savoury delights combine blissfully with our range of traditional teas and espresso coffee options, bringing to life every taste bud imaginable.

The experience begins as soon as you walk through the Country Club doors, as a glass of bubbles and the smooth stylings of our entertainment greet you on arrival. The spectacular mix of traditional culinary delights with a distinctly modern twist are further complemented by the surrounds of the luxurious Harrington Grove Country Club. Taking in the vast and sweeping panoramas of the natural bushlands surrounding the Country Club grounds while enjoying all decadence of a traditional High Tea, one could easily lose track of more than a couple of hours.

So isn’t it time that you and your friends treated yourselves to an afternoon of luxury and indulgence? Seats always fill quickly and we have a very limited availability, so please call us on 02 4631 3200 to enquire about upcoming High Tea dates and reserve your booking.

There are only a few other sports that capture the Australian imagination as much as tennis. We hold a special place in our collective hearts for tennis stars such as Pat Rafter, Evonne Goolagong Cawley and the newly retired Lleyton Hewitt. At Harrington Grove, we like to think that one of Australia’s next champions could already be in our midst… we just need to be there for them at the start of their journey.

Living in the Harrington Grove community provides an abundance of opportunities for health, well-being and enjoyment, but it also provides the opportunity to excel at what could be a life-changing talent. Our tennis facilities not only accommodate those who enjoy a casual game, but our professional and experienced coaching staff can help your child reach their full potential.

Our tennis facilities, located at both the Country Club and the Magnolia Club, provide the perfect arena to pursue talents in the safety, security and convenience of their very own estate. The new Michelia Club will also include tennis facilities when it opens.

Harrington Grove tennis facilities provide both camp style and lesson training alternatives that will actively feed your child’s passion for tennis, develop their natural talent, and help them to form life-long interests in this prestigious sport.

Previous Summer Tennis and Sports Camp were a great success with both children and parents alike. Held in early January this year, many of our resident families took advantage of the four-day tennis camp, with everyone involved having an excellent time as part of their school holiday activities. Our Tennis and Sports Camp also provided the perfect opportunity for our residents to get to know each other in a fun and social environment.

If you are interested in the tennis coaching programs, schedules or facilities available to Harrington Grove residents, make a booking through Grove Life or contact our Community Manager.

Harrington Grove is delighted at the NSW government’s decision to construct the new South West Rail Link underground. Following months of discussion, the announcement has been jubilantly received by residents as it means more than 40 homes in Harrington Grove’s Wildfire will be spared. It also positively impacts upon the endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland that is so integral to Harrington Grove.

On behalf of Harrington Grove residents, Harrington Estates Managing Director Terry Goldacre is thankful to the NSW government for its consideration. “The NSW government listened to our residents and has made the best possible decision for them. We welcome the amenity of a new train line and the opportunity this presents to our residents and the wider community; having it situated underground is the best decision on every level,” he says.

Mr Goldacre is especially grateful to Chris Patterson MP, Member for Camden. “Mr Patterson has shown himself to be a loyal representative of the people of South West Sydney, especially regarding this issue. He went above and beyond to ensure that Camden received the best viable outcome in the form of an underground rail line, and we are appreciative of his support,” he says.

The South West Rail Link is set to run underground from Oran Park, beneath Harrington Grove and continue further south to Narellan. It will also include stations at Rossmore, Bringelly and North Bringelly, and will be an extension of the recently completed South West Rail Link that currently operates between Leppington and Glenfield. It will service the growing needs of the South West and will eventually link up with the future Badgerys Creek Airport.

Today’s announcement is positive on many levels for Harrington Grove and the wider community. More than 40 homes have been spared, and residents who would have been near the train lines needn’t fear the loud and disruptive sights and sounds. Just as significantly, the underground rail will also protect Harrington Forest, a substantial area of critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland that plays a strategically significant role in meeting the biodiversity offset requirements in the region. Harrington Forest also serves a substantial amenity and recreational role for residents.

“Our community will enjoy the convenience and benefits of the nearby train line while retaining the beauty and serenity that is so integral to the Harrington Grove lifestyle. Again, we are truly thankful to the NSW government and incredibly proud of our residents for submitting their opinions in a peaceful, intelligent manner. It says a lot about them, and it also speaks volumes about the government who granted their wishes,” says Mr Goldacre.

On Saturday 31 October 2015, while children were busy trick or treating, the MBA Excellence in Construction Awards night was being held at Star City Event Centre in Sydney.

Mainbrace Constructions received two winning honours on the night, with the Harrington Grove’s Magnolia Club winning in the New Club / Entertainment category. The award places the Magnolia Club within a prestigious circle of winners, previously including The Star Event Centre, Club Central Hurstville and the Harrington Grove Country Club. The Harrington Grove Country Club was a previous winner for Mainbrace in the same category when it opened in 2009.

Magnolia Club opened on Saturday 15 November 2014 and has been enjoyed by residents and their guests since. Magnolia Club is a warm space that is, a familiar home away from home with the added convenience of being nearby. It contains a range of different living spaces to suit the needs and preferences of all residents. The entire club has been carefully appointed with style and comfort in mind, while the clever open-plan design provides the best vantage points from which to capture the scenic surrounds.
Facilities at Magnolia Club include:

  • Multipurpose tennis court
  • Fully-equipped kitchen
  • Alfresco room
  • Barbecues and picnic facilities
  • Swimming pool with a built in spa seat, swim jets and assisted access
  • Area to play croquet
  • Children’s playground

All Harrington Grove residents and their guests are welcome at the Magnolia Club.

Harrington Estates latest development, Catherine Park was yesterday the venue for the unveilling of a new ANZAC display commemorating two WWI diggers in a project commissioned by Catherine Park Estate land developer, Harrington Estates.

The commemorations are focused on two local servicemen who did not return after service in Gallipoli in 1915; Camden farmer Hector Small and Camden tailor Milton Thornton.

The project to commemorate two local servicemen is important to Harrington Estates to strongly respect the past and honour the fact that and community developers owe a great deal to the freedoms the ANZACs secured. The commemorations include displays and books available for all to view and read at Catherine Park House.

Harrington Grove contains the largest privately owned and managed conservation area of Cumberland Plain Woodland, a critically endangered ecological community with over 262 hectares (647 acres) of land preserved in its natural state. The total size of the site is 486 hectares (1200 acres), yet only 40% (480 acres) will ever be developed. The remaining 60% will remain natural bushland, maintained by the community scheme of Harrington Grove. When completed, the estate will contain approximately 1400 homes in discrete precincts that are integrated with the natural environment.

Before development began, Harrington Estates recognised that the significant stands of Cumberland Plain Woodland in Harrington Grove were under threat. The property was zoned rural but rural uses were not sustainable and the woodland was deteriorating.

Harrington Estates saw the opportunity to develop the area in an environmentally-sensitive manner that would provide sound environmental and social outcomes.

The existence of the extensive areas of woodland was a major consideration in the rezoning process and planning of the development. The treatment of the bushland and the consideration of its future care and maintenance resulted in an ecological corridor forming a central part of the development. Planned to link the areas of high value Cumberland Plain Woodland, the ecological corridors are being restored under a comprehensive ten-year vegetation restoration program that is being overseen by Eco Logical Australia.

Designated as a fauna habitat development area, active regeneration and restoration of ecological communities is continually taking place under a comprehensive Conservation Management Plan, creating a safe environment for birds, possums, wallabies and other wildlife to flourish in peace alongside their human counterparts at Harrington Grove.

Lots in Michelia have sold in record time as a result of the unprecedented demand for new land.

The first three stages were released in succession, with appointments beginning at 6am and lasting well into the evening on release days.

With Harington Forest a stones throw away and with easy access to The Northern Road and Cobbitty Road, Michelia has been developed with a fine balance of solace and convenience in mind.

As with previous land releases, Michelia is designed to take full advantage of the natural bushland, offering immediate access to the extensive pathways and cycleways that wind through the bushland areas for residents to explore.

Michelia is a highly sought after precinct within Harrington Grove in part due to the planned Michelia Club, scheduled to open in 2016. Similar to the popular Magnolia Club and the Harrington Grove Country Club, the Michelia Club will contain a swimming pool, tennis court, children’s playground, gazebo picnic tables, barbecues and a gym, all conveniently situated in Harrington Grove’s Michelia precinct and all delivered with the characteristics of class and flair.

Harringtons Bar and Grill continue to deliver a fresh and innovative menu with this month’s the addition of several Moroccan spice inspired Dishes.

Preserved lemons are a key ingredient in many Moroccan tagine recipes, and our chefs have incorporated these flavours beautifully into new entrees and mains.

A delicious entrée to start with is the new Moroccan Prawns, cooked in Moroccan spices and served with preserved lemon, chickpeas , cherry tomatoes and Pane Di Casa. This dish can be cooked Gluten Free if required.

Our main menu includes two new tagine dishes encompassing the spices and flavours of Morocco. The Lamb and Prune Tagine is certainly a traditional North African flavour that celebrates succulent lamb shanks while the Chicken Tagine highlights the preserved lemon and spices that make this style of cooking desired.

Cooking tagine style is similar to slow cooking. The tagine's conical shape makes a uniquely moist, hot cooking environment for the dish being cooked. The base is wide and shallow, and the tall lid fits snugly inside. As the food cooks, steam rises into the cone. It condenses then trickles down the sides back into the dish.
To accompany the exotic new Moroccan inspired dishes, Harringtons have a new side dish of Tumeric and Cumin Chat Potatoes which have a delightful crust of Moroccan flavour.

On a forecasted freezing morning in Harrington Grove, 14 teams hit the course in a bid to be crowed the Inaugural Harrington Grove Amazing Race champions.

Teams made their way around four precincts; Magnolia, Maculata, Dianella and Lomandra, before racing to the finishing line at the Country Club. Teams visited each check point along the way, completing activities and solving puzzles to get the clues to move further throughout the course. Some of the activities included Grand Slam tennis challenges, fitness challenges including hanging from monkey bars and holding a plank position, as well as completing food challenges (do you like blue cheese?) and taking selfies with Sir Warwick Fairfax.

The course ended with a game of ‘The Price is Right’ at the finish line before everyone enjoyed a sausage sizzle.

Congratulations to the first placed ‘Navy Blue’ team and the second placed ‘Light Purple’ team.

Transport NSW has released proposed guidelines for a rail corridor to extend the South West Rail Link from Leppington through to Oran Park and Narellan. The current proposal greatly impacts Harrington Grove residents.

Harrington Estates, the developer for Harrington Grove, supports the objective of improving public transport to the local area but only in a way that doesn’t impact residents.

See Harrington Estates official position on the extension here
