The new 'Racquet Club' is now up and running at the Country Club. The purpose of this club is to provide residents with a range of tennis services and events. The 'Racquet Club' will be a hive of tennis activity this summer, with a wide range of tennis activities including private and group coaching, social and serious tournaments, school holiday clinics and many more.
We are also very excited to announce the appointment of our new Director of Tennis, John Thompson, who will be responsible for growing the tennis program at the Country Club.
John brings over 12 years experience in tennis coaching and recently, was the NSW State Coach and Head Coach of the NSW State Academy. He is currently the Head Coach of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport Elite Tennis Program and has worked as an Academy and Adult Professional at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in the USA.
During his time at the Ranch, John worked with some of the world's top juniors and was involved in the Famous Legends week as a tennis professional. Legends include John Newcombe, Fred Stolle, Guillermo Vilas, Mark Woodforde and Roy Emerson.
John was the National & International Touring Coach with Australian and American Junior players. He is a former NSW State Representative Player, Satellite Player and has acted as a warm up player for several top WTA players including Janine Tremelling (nee Thompson), Jenny Byrne, Pam Shriver and Pat Cash. John's enthusiasm and experience will provide Harrington Grove residents with an amazing opportunity to reach their maximum potential and get more from their tennis game.
